She had a normal life in Baghdad, a job, a house, a car. After the American invasion not only she lost everything, but – as hundreds of thousands of refugees – Inas is nowadays struggling to keep her three children and her invalid husband alive in a shabby one-room apartment in Damascus, with no heating, no cooking stove, no fridge.
She has been slowly selling her jewellery to survive, but nothing is left at present. So she has given up on dinner for her family, and she is diluting with water the formula for her newborn….but what’s next for them?
